  1. From the main menu, click on Integrations and then select Inbound Integrations from the sub menu.

  2. Select CHAT tab

  3. Select the 'ADD CHAT INTEGRATION' button.

  4. You should now be on the API Integration Detail page. Select Slack from the pre-built Integration Templates.

  5. Enter a name for the integration. Select an escalation rule to determine the integration's escalation policy. And enter the names of recipient group(s) and recipient user(s). Click 'SAVE.'

Slack Configuration

  1. Select a channel to integrate AlertOps and Slack.

  2. Click Authorize

  3. In AlertOps, select a group to add Slack to.

Next, add Slack to the Group Contact Notifications section of your Escalation Rule.

After completing the integration setup, alerts sent to this group will appear in your Slack channel.

Slack Buttons

When you receive an alert in Slack, you have the option to Acknowledge, Assign, Escalate, and Close the alert.

Slash Commands

Execute actions in AlertOps through slash commands in Slack.

  • Create New Alert: /alertops open subject

  • Close Alert: /alertops close [AlertID] resolution

  • Acknowledge Alert: /alertops ack [AlertID]

  • Assign Alert: /alertops assign [AlertID]

  • Escalate Alert: /alertops escalate [AlertID]

  • Update Alert: /alertops reply [AlertID] message

  • Link User Account: /alertops linkuser

In the case that you open an alert from Slack (using /alertops open subject), and it comes off different channels, you can create separate integrations for each channel (In this way, you can trigger different escalation rules/workflows for different channels).

Just ensure that when you add the integration to Slack, you add it to the channel of your choice, and make sure that it is mapped under 'Advanced Settings' > 'URL Mapping' as shown below. (make sure that the exact channel name is provided there)
